Winter Games Success

Summer in Winter! “I’m humored that we haven’t had significant snow the last several years for Winter Games, which is why we decided to have a summer theme,” says Pastor Shawn Rittmiller. The Winter Games summer theme didn’t quite fit the weather as well as it would have in last year’s 50 degree Saturday. In the cool 30 degrees with scant snow, almost 70 teens from 11 churches in Nebraska played variations of summer games baseball, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee.  Missionary speaker Pat Campbell (BMM-Peru; FBBC) connected with the teens challenging them to be the real deal, reflecting Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29). Although it wasn’t Tuesday, tacos and chips with the works was the menu followed by a trip to Mahoney State Park where ice skating and a play area entertained everyone until the end of the event.
